Item Texas local cross library type collaborations: benefits and challenges(2021) Rohrig, TomItem Engaging with Escape Rooms(2021) Monnier, RuthCOVID-19 required creative outreach programming with campus being closed in Spring 2020. With many classes taking an online format, it is hard to get students to engage in virtual spaces. Pittsburg State University’s (PSU) Library Services created an asynchronous virtual escape room that successfully engaged students and the PSU community in an online space while using few resources. This Lightning Talk will discuss the hows and whys a virtual escape room can bring the library to anyone, even if they are not physically present! Attendees will learn about creating a virtual escape room as well how to market and publicize such an event.Item Eliminating Idle Time: Using Automation for Texas Tech University Digitization(2021) McEniry, MatthewThe COVID-19 pandemic has caused us to change how we normally conduct digitization operations at Texas Tech University. With our student worker pool reduced by 66%, we needed to find ways to increase the efficiency of our productivity. The clear candidate for this was to reduce the idle time of our processing when students are using Photoshop, PDF, and OCR operations. This lightning talk will quickly go over the options we have considered and have implemented to increase our digitization lab efficiency.
