Abstract
Due to the rigor and demand of the TWU College of Nursing BSN program, numerous students need academic support services to complete the required courses and graduate successfully. Peer tutoring is a collaborative learning intervention to promote students’ academic and personal development. The purpose of this research is to examine the potential benefits of peer tutoring and apply them toward the newly formed Myers-JHG Tutoring and Academic Support Center at the TWU College of Nursing in Dallas. After a full semester of implementation, metrics such as satisfaction surveys and academic performance will be examined to determine the effectiveness of peer tutoring. A comprehensive understanding of a peer tutoring program has the potential to enhance academic support services for undergraduate nursing students at TWU for years to come.
