The history of athletics at Texas Woman’s University is a topic little known to most current students. With eight sports, including two brand new ones, TWU is a division two school with amazing athletes. After joining the NCAA athletic competition in 1982, TWU began competing in seven popular sports. Our objective in this project is to inform Texas Woman’s University students of our athletic program and the athletes who changed our school name in awards and records broken. But how did Texas Woman’s University's program begin and how did it get to where it is now? We'll discover this answer through sources including TWU’s Athletic Hall of Fame, Athletics in American Colleges by W. H. Cowley, and interviews with our team coaches.
