Testerman, Deborah L.2018-03-272018-03-278/30/2000http://hdl.handle.net/11274/9450The purpose of the study was to evaluate the need for a Master's degree program in dental hygiene at Texas Woman's University. A total of 127 respondents replied to the questionnaire making a response rate of 48%. The questionnaire obtained information about demographics, future educational needs of TWU graduates, and desire to pursue a higher education degree. The results were tabulated in frequencies and percentages using SPSS for Windows. The results of the survey suggest that the majority of the TWU dental hygiene graduates believe a graduate degree in dental hygiene would increase career opportunities. If a graduate degree were offered at TWU, the respondents would like to see a variety of courses to choose from and would need flexible and creative scheduling. The primary reasons cited to pursue a master's degree in dental hygiene were fulfillment of personal goal and enhancement of skill.en-USHealth and environmental sciencesHealth careDental careAssessment of the need for a dental hygiene Master's programThesis
