AHMS have been shown to increase efficiency in time required to work through a series of tasks, and to minimize wandering through an information space. Specific objectives of this research were to identify (a) the significance of the AHMS and the navigation support technique of link hiding to improve posttest performance on the hypertext markup language competency examination (HTMLCE) which measures student proficiency in the hypertext markup language (HTML), and (b) to identify the extent of the significant differences in means between control and experimental groups who participated in differing learning environments in a series of lessons on the subject of HTML.Adaptive navigationLink hidingWeb-based instructionDissertation
