Abstract

his descriptive study sought to determine if a difference existed between the veteran police officers' and the police cadets' knowledge of the AIDS. The setting was a large urban police department. The convenience sample consisted of 394 veteran officers and 75 police cadets. Data were collected utilizing a demographic data form and a knowledge questionnaire. Scores from the questionnaire revealed both groups were generally knowledgeable about AIDS. There was no significant difference in the knowledge levels of the veteran police officers and the police cadets at the.05 level of significance.
