Abstract

The purpose of this research study was to investigate the interrelationships among nutritional practices, exercise behaviors, and psychological status. A questionnaire which included a wide range of questions concerning dietary and nutritional practices, exercise regime, and psychological status was developed by the researcher. The questionnaire was administered to a convenience sample of employees on the Denton campus of Texas Woman's University (n=939). A total of 347 completed and usable questionnaires were returned for a 37% usable rate. Results of this study suggest that this sample had better health practices in the area of nutrition than in the areas of exercise or psychological status. In addition, findings also indicate that there is a strong link among nutritional practices, exercise behaviors, and psychological status.
