The influence of physical conditiong and dedeconditioning upon cardiac structure of males and females

The influence of 10 week conditioning and deconditioning programs upon the cardiac structures of 20 college students was measured by echocardiograph. A two-way analysis of variance with repeated measures revealed that the maxVo(,2), treadmill performance time (TPT), IVS thickness, PWT, LVIDd, LVIDs, LVIDd('3), LVIDs('3), and SV significantly increased following conditioning then significantly decreased following deconditioning programs. The data also showed that the male Ss had greater heart walls and dimensions when compared to the female values.
