Abstract
Research objective/question: This review examines current literature on Virtual Reality (VR) as an instructional tool for students with VI. Methodology: Research and review articles curated from library sources with publishing dates no later than 2005. Keywords for the search included but were not limited to: Visual impairment, virtual reality, and instruction. References from review articles were used to source and verify data.
Implications: The review implies that though VR appears to be a viable supplementary instructional tool for individuals with VI. More specific research is needed in accommodations, software, setup, and instructional design/implementation to be of use on a broader scale.
